There will be speakers, Director of Human Rights, Walter Reed, Secretary of State, Michael Mauro, and Governor Chet Culver and tours of the Capitol with interpreters provided. DO YOU WANT TO WORK? DSCI has been working with Iowa Workforce Devel- opment and other agencies to help Deaf and Hard of Hearing get jobs. There are many programs and services out there to help. Most people only know Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services. That is good, but there are other services too. Do you have a job but no insurance? There is pro- gram to help. Do you want a job but don’t know where to look? There is a program to help. Do you get SSI or SSDI? Do you want to work? Are you afraid you will lose SSI or SSDI if you work? Find out about programs to help you work and earn some money or more than you get now with SSI or SSDI alone. On May 1 and 2, 2008 you can meet with experts to help you learn about programs for you.
