Free admission, walk starts at 10:30 a.m., entertainment, and interpreters will be provided. ANNOUNCEMENT Deaf Services Commission of Iowa is pleased to announce our new staff member. WELCOME to Linda Scott, our new secretary. Linda has worked for the State of Iowa for a number of years. She began state employment in 1969 and after 30+ years, retired in 2000. She returned to state employment as a contract employee the fall of 2000 in Central Administration for the Department of Human Rights working the winter season of each year for five years. She came back to fulltime state employment May 2004. December 2004 she agreed to work as a part-time employee of DSCI and worked that position as well as part-time for Central Administration until a month ago when she joined DSCI fulltime. Linda will also work part of her time for the Client Assistance Program within the Division of Persons with Disabilities. Linda has been married to her husband, Vic for 46 years and has one son and two grandchildren all living in the Des Moines area. In her “down time” Linda and her husband own a landscaping company so she works at the garden center as well. She enjoys reading and attending her grandchildren’s sports activities.
