If a district joined the consortium this year, but would like to opt out in subsequent years, are they allowed to do so?

Yes a district can opt out of a consortium after a year. However, they would have to draft their own plan for implementation, staff development and evaluation. Basically, they would have to fill out the RFP for E2T2, submit the application for review and then implement with regard to their CSIP and their signed assurances. Also they would not be eligible for any of the competitive dollars.

I have classroom associates and paraprofessionals that work with general and special education students that are unsure as to what requirements they have to meet as part of the No Child Left Behind Act. Where or who I can contact to get this information?

Please check the department website under the No Child Left Behind page.

May a district or consortium use part of its Title IID funds to train parents to use software to track their children's grades, disciplinary actions and other school information? Are there any special reporting requirements for such use?

Yes, under the involvement of parents in schools requirement this could be permitted. However, the question would be does this fit into the overall focus of the consortium application? Is this software linked specifically to the grant's focus? How will the parents be evaluated as to their utilization of the software and reaction to the training?
