What should I do if I think an application is not accurate?

SFAs have an obligation to verify all questionable applications. Any verification that is done for cause is done inaddition to the sample required for either random or focused sampling. Also,verification efforts must not delay the approval of applications. If an application is complete and indicates a family is eligible for benefits, the application must be approved. Following approval, the verification process may begin. If a household fails to submit the requested information by the date specified, the family must be sent a notice of adverse action.

A grandparent has been named guardian of a grandchild. The grandchild gets Social Security benefits and the grandparent has a pension. What is the status of this household?

A farming family wants to apply. The wife gets a weekly paycheck from the farm. How is that handled? They also file Schedule F for taxes.

The adults in this situation should be contacted to confirm the information provided.  They may be two adults sharing a house as roommates, in which case they would be two economic units.  An economic unit is a group of related or unrelated people who share housing and/or all significant income and expenses of its members. Generally, individuals residing in the same house are one economic unit. Separate economic units in the same house are characterized by prorating expenses and economic independence from one another.  If they consider themselves one household, they should complete one application reporting all the income and all the household members.

The list from the day care is very long and it will be a lot of work to look all the children up. Are we required to share the information?
