Goals

Our goal is to develop a model from which to better understand the dispositions needed in order to be successful teachers and assessments for the evaluation of teacher dispositions at four points: introductory courses, field/practicum experiences, student teaching, and licensed teaching.

The TQE Dispositions Model consists of two parts:

  • A Conceptual Framework that represents a synthesis of work done by the Dispositions Team since its inception. This framework is organized around 5 C's (critical, creative, communicative, caring and competent dispositions). Each disposition is linked to one or more INTASC dispositions. Some are linked to the Combs model.
  • Developmental Assessments based on descriptions of what specific dispositions "look like" at four points: introductory education classes, field experience/practicum settings, student teaching, and teaching
