Several state and national organizations have resources on their websites to help school districts and area education agencies with financial and business operations.
American Education Finance Association (AEFA)
The AEFA is a non-profit professional and academic association representing a variety of disciplines, perspectives and points of view.
 
Association of School Business Officials (ASBO)
The Association of School Business Officials International is a professional association which provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources.
 
Education Finance Statistics Center (NCES)
Use this site to get finance information on public elementary/secondary education.
 
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
GFOA is the professional association of state/provincial and local finance officers in the United States and Canada, and has served the public finance profession since 1906.  Approximately 16,500 GFOA members are dedicated to the sound management of government financial resources.
 
Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
The mission of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board is to establish and improve standards of state and local governmental accounting and financial reporting that will result in useful information for users of financial reports and guide and educate the public, including issuers, auditors, and users of those financial reports.
 
Iowa Association of School Business Officials (IASBO)
The mission of the Iowa Association of School Business Officials is to provide programs and services that promote the highest standards of school business management practices and professional growth.
 
National Center on Education Finance (NCSL)
States provide more funding for education than any other government service.  NCSL's Education Program has an abundance of information on education policy issues, including No Child Left Behind (NCLB), education finance and teacher quality.  In addition, the Education Program provides a one-of-its-kind Legislative Education Summary Service (LESS) and hosts the Legislative Education Staff Network (LESN) and the Education Chairs Network (ECN).  
The Association of Government Accountants (AGA)
AGA serves government accountability professionals by providing quality education, fostering professional development and certification, and supporting standards and research to advance government accountability.
