Due to recent severe weather and flood conditions in Iowa, the Iowa Department of Education is providing disaster recovery information to Iowa’s school districts, area education agencies, community colleges, and others to help continue to meet the educational needs of Iowa students.
The Department has a Disaster Recovery Team ready to answer questions and connect school districts, area education agencies, community colleges, USDA Summer Food Service Program sponsors, and Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsors with information and resources. Contact information for this team is below.

The School Administrators of Iowa (SAI) is ready to provide whatever service is necessary to Iowa's school leaders as you deal with this disaster. Iowa State Education Association (ISEA) Disaster Relief Effort
The ISEA has donated $5,000 to start a fund to help association members replace personal teaching materials and supplies lost in the recent Parkersburg tornado as well as in the widespread flooding across the state. Although details are still in development, the funds will be distributed later this summer to local associations which will then decide how best to disburse the money to members. If you want to contribute, please make checks payable to the ISEA and write "Disaster Relief Effort" in the memo line at the bottom of the check.

Aplington-Parkersburg Community School District Tornado Fund
Aplington-Parkersburg (A-P) High School, along with hundreds of homes and businesses, was destroyed by a May 25 tornado. Cash donations for the General School Rebuilding Effort may go to the A-P School Tornado Fund. These can be dropped off at the middle school in Aplington, or mailed to:

Cedar Rapids Community School District Flood Recovery Fund
Those wishing to donate funds to the Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) or to a specific school in the district may do so through the Cedar Rapids Community Schools Foundation. The Foundation will distribute designated funds according to donor wishes. Donor acknowledgements and tax information will be handled by the Foundation. Grant Wood AEA Employee Relief Fund
A relief fund has been established for Grant Wood AEA employees affected by flooding in eastern Iowa. Individuals or organizations may send donations to the GWAEA Employee Relief Fund in care of Kelly Couchman at Hills Bank, 3610 Williams Blvd SW, 52404.
