Title I - Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
Supports supplementary services in reading and math to improve the educational performance of low achieving children in high poverty schools. Title I, Part A, Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies
* Not yet available. Title I, Subpart 3, William F. Goodling Even Start Family Literacy Programs * Funding for Even Start is undetermined at this time pending the authorization of Congress in 2005. Title I, Part C, Education of Migratory Children Designs programs to help migratory children overcome educational disruption, culture and language barriers, social isolation, and factors inhibiting academic achievement. Parental involvement required. Title I, Part D, Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth Who are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk Targets neglected and delinquent youths in state institutions without a high school diploma to improve services so that these children have the opportunity to meet the same high standards as all children in the state.

Title II - Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and PrincipalsTitle II, Part A, Federal Teacher Quality Program Title IIA provides funding to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools, and to hold local educational agencies and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement. Title III - Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant StudentsTitle III, Part A, English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement Act

Title IV - 21st Century SchoolsTitle IV, Part A, Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities This program is designed to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs among youth. It also strives to reduce the incidence of violent and antisocial behaviors within public schools.
To create community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities for children; particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
*Competitive grants already awarded and districts notified.
Title V - Promoting Informed Parental Choice and Innovative ProgramsTitle V is a federal flow-through program designed to assist local education agencies in the reform of elementary and secondary education.
