Iowa Statewide Reading Team

The Iowa Department of Education, in collaboration with area education agencies, has established the Statewide Reading Team (SWRT) and AEA reading teams to support the Every Child Reads K-12 effort. The SWRT and AEA reading teams are designed to accomplish the following: Build individual and collective knowledge, skills, and strategies in the area of reading and reading instruction K-12 across Iowa's education system including DE, AEAs, and LEAs in teaching reading to those students who are experiencing difficulty across Iowa's educational system including DE, AEAs, and LEAs Build individual and collective knowledge about structured school improvement components necessary to improve achievement in an academic area of specific reading strategies and models Emphasis the application of the Every Child Reads: Excellence in Teaching and Learning strategies and models across content areas  2006-07 Statewide Reading Team Members
