In mid-October, the U.S. Department of Education sent to each LEA its annual letter regarding school districts' obligations under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). The specific office within the federal Department that sent the letter is the Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO). The link to FPCO is www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco . Included in the letter were Model Notification of Rights under FERPA , Model Notification of Rights under PPRA , and Model Consent/Opt-Out for Specific Activities under PPRA .
