An unique statewide student identifier is required for every public school student in prekindergarten - 12th grade in the Iowa. This identifier, called the Iowa Student Number [ISN], is assigned by the Iowa Department of Education ( DE ) using the State ID System. The ISN facilitates data submission via Project EASIER.
Access to the State ID System is restricted to authorized personnel. District, AEA and DE staff wishing to access the State ID System must sign an assurance statement covering system usage before they will be given access to the system.
