Certified Enrollment is an annual report of enrolled resident students used for the Iowa School Finance Formula calculation. The certified enrollment count is taken on the first day of October every year, or the following Monday if the first falls on a weekend. The data collection is located at www.edinfo.state.ia.us and is due no later than October 15.
Beginning with the fall of 2009, certified enrollment student counts, other than supplementary weighting, will be collected as part of Project EASIER student records and will no longer be collected as a separate data collection.
The supplementary weighting and Mentoring and Induction data collection will continue as a separate data collection and is due no later than October 15 each year.

The following document discusses students who are eligible and ineligible to be counted for certified enrollment.
For public school districts prior to the fall of 2009, the certified enrollment included, in addition to resident student counts, supplementary weighting for shared programs, Limited English Proficient weighting, nonpublic shared time, open enrollment, home school assistance, and dual enrollment. The certified enrollment also included a teacher count for Educational Excellence and Teacher Quality funding.
Beginning with the fall of 2009, the supplementary weighting for sharing will continue as a separate data collection and will include the Beginning Teacher and Beginning Administrator Mentoring and Induction data collection. The teacher count is no longer required. However, all of the student counts will be collected within the Project EASIER student records data collection.
