What about children who require special education? What ages must they be to get special education services from their school district?
Solution
In general, children identified as requiring special education may access such services from birth to age 21. Iowa Code section 256B.2. There are limited circumstances whereby this agency may grant approval to continue a student's special education program for up to three years or until age 24. Iowa Code section 256B.8.
