10 WAYS TO GET A LOBBYING VIOLATION
|
- Filing a lobbyist or client report late.
- Failing to file a lobbyist registration statement before engaging in lobbying activities.
- Making a campaign contribution to an elected state official or candidate for state office during the regular legislative session (30 days after session to the Governor or gubernatorial candidates).
- Failing to fill out entire report or failing to properly disclose information on a report.
- Accepting a contingency fee (including bonuses) to lobby.
- Trying to file for an exemption from reporting when not qualified (see rule 351 IAC 8.8(5)).
- Engaging in a prohibited activity as outlined in the rules in 351-chapter 8.
- Not filing a final report within 15 days of canceling lobbyist registration (or filing at the next reporting deadline, whichever is earlier).
- Ignoring a letter from the Board.
- Relying on someone other than the Board for answers to executive branch lobbying questions.
