Function Pre-Registrations
Iowa Code section 68B.22(4)"s" provides an exception to the $3.00 gift law that permits executive branch officials and employees and local government personnel to attend functions held during legislative session when every member of the General Assembly is invited to attend. HF2109 requires sponsors of the function to file a registration notice 5 days before the function with the General Assembly and the Board. The Board will accept filings with the General Assembly as full compliance.
