On European Commission Microsoft Action Today

I welcome the EU action today. Microsoft's consistent and repeated pattern of illegal behavior is of serious concern to the Europeans as it is to us.

The EU alleged that Microsoft is illegally utilizing bundling, license agreements and interoperability to achieve success in the marketplace, and not competing on the merits of the products. This is the same type of activity as in the American case.

This is very important and we welcome the European action.

The Europeans have the same overriding concern as we do: that Microsoft's illegal conduct has thwarted innovation, hurt competition, and harmed consumers. This is a worldwide concern.
