The Attorney General wants all Iowans to make informed decisions about their charitable giving.   To help Iowans in make these important personal decisions the Attorney General offers a variety of resources here which allow you to find information on a charity before writing that check.

Iowa Secretary of State. Search for the business filings of  Iowa Non Profits

Guidestar. allows searching of financial records of non-profits (some features requires (free) registration)

Charity Navigator. an independent charity evaluator, that evaluates the financial health of over 5,300 of America's largest charities.

Better Business Bureau. Check out a business or charity.
