….a new Website for the Iowa Professional Licensing Bureau

A new Website is coming for the Iowa Professional Licensing Bureau. The look will be completely redesigned and easier to navigate. The web address will change as well but anyone who logs on to the old site will be automatically redirected. Launch time announcements will be made here so please keep checking on our status.

Associate appraisers wishing to be certified prior to the January 2015 criteria change MUST comply with the following timelines as outlined in Administrative Rules 193F chapter 1:

To allow sufficient time for board selection of three appraisals from the work product review experience log, board communication of the selected appraisals to the applicant, and applicant submission of the appraisals and work files to the board office by October 1, 2014, applicants for residential certification should submit their work product experience log to the board by September 1, 2014, and applicants for general certification should submit their work product experience log to the board by August 1, 2014.

Applicants for certification as residential or general certified appraisers who submit appraisals and work files for work product review on or after October 2, 2014, shall be considered for certification under the January 1, 2015, criteria. If an applicant submitting appraisals and work files for work product review on or after October 2, 2014, has previously passed the required examination, the examination results will remain valid for the 24-month period of validity, as described in 193F—Chapter 3.

Iowa reports to the ASC registry on the first working day of each month.  The ASC reports your current status to the FHA roster, the State of Iowa does not.  If you are certified and do FHA appraisals, and you renew your Iowa license from June 1 – June 30 your Iowa renewal will not be reported until after your FHA renewal deadline has passed. Our Board office has no control over the timing of this process.
