MINUTES--May
29, 2003
Present: James Hughes, Chair, Dorothy Woline, Vice Chair, James O’Neill,
Patty Daniels, and Laurie Dawley.
Others
Present: Roger Hansen, Executive Officer and Susan Griffel,
Education Director, and Kay Halloran, Division Administrator.
The meeting was called to order at 9:03 a.m.
Laurie Dawley, new public member of the Commission from Walford,
Iowa, was introduced and welcomed to the Commission.
Woline moved, second by Daniels to approve the minutes for the
April 17, 2002 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
The
tentative meeting schedule was reviewed. Hughes appointed himself
and Dawley to serve on the Investigation Committee
July
16, 2003. O’Neill and Daniels will serve August 27, 2003.
Consideration of license fees was tabled, pending final language
in HF 655.
O’Neill
reported that he will address a meeting of the SW Iowa Realtors
Association.
Daniels commented favorably regarding Virtual Office Websites.
9:31 a.m. A hearing, open to the public, was held on case number
2-025.
Daniels
moved, second by Woline to go into closed session pursuant to
Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(d) and 21.5(1)(f)
to deliberate. Roll
call vote, Woline, aye; O’Neill, aye; Daniels, aye; Dawley,
aye; and Hughes, aye. Motion carried unanimously. The Commission
went into closed session at 2:30 p.m. and returned to open session
at 4:45 p.m.
Due to time, the following agenda items were deferred until the
next regularly scheduled meeting: 1. Salesperson application case
number 03-046, 2. Salesperson application case number 03-044; and
3. Request for informal advice or opinion, Doug Hibbeler, President,
Response Catalyst, Inc.
Woline
moved, second by O’Neill to go into closed session
pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(d) and 21.5(1)(f) for the
Investigation Committee's Report and to review open complaint cases.
Roll call vote, Woline, aye; O’Neill, aye; Daniels, aye;
Dawley, aye; and Hughes, aye. Motion carried unanimously. The Commission
went into closed session at 4:50 p.m. and returned to open session
at 4: 58 p.m.
O’Neill
moved, second by Daniels to find probable cause in case number
02-088, to close cases 02-105,
03-023, 03-026, 03-032,
03-008, 02-009, 03-054, and 02-009 and to allow more time to comply
in case 00-082. Motion carried unanimously
Hansen
read public comment provided by Paul McLaughlin, IAR, which included
an invitation to attend the IAR Summer Meeting
June 10-12,
2003 at the association’s Clive, Iowa office. Several items
of interest were noted on the program.
Woline moved, second by Dawley to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
