2015 Proposed Legislation
The Iowa Board of Pharmacy is considering amendments to Iowa Code Chapter 155A, Iowa Pharmacy Practice Act. The amendments being considered relate to supervision of pharmacy technicians in telepharmacy practice, the licensure and discipline of nonresident pharmacies and outsourcing facilities, and various definitions relating to pharmacy practice. Other amendments under consideration include the appointment of a pool of alternate board members, clarification of the authority of Board inspectors, and the sharing of inspection reports with other state boards of pharmacy through the NABP Inspection Network.
The Board is soliciting comments and suggestions regarding the proposed amendments no later than Monday, October 6, 2014, so that those comments and suggestions can be distributed to Board members and given appropriate consideration prior to filing the Board’s legislative request for 2015.
