LICENSING
FACILITY EMPLOYEES

All persons participating in any capacity in a race meeting or with an excursion gambling boat are required to obtain an occupational license from the Commission. A license is valid for two calendar years. All licenses are temporary until the completion of required background investigations.

Each applicant must complete and sign an application form prescribed and published by the Commission and pay a license fee set by the Commission. The fees are $10 for non-gaming positions and $20 for gaming positions. A fee is assessed by the IRS to process the IRS 4506T form that is included in the background investigations for Class A, C and D licenses ($8.00). The Commission shall charge the applicant a fee set by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and by the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation to cover the cost associated with the search and classification of fingerprints ($46.25).
