What is Articulation for Nursing Education?
Articulation is a process in which nursing education programs cooperate to meet student learning needs and career goals with minimal repetition of learning experiences. In Iowa, positive collegial relationships among baccalaureate and higher degree, and community college nursing programs, assist many nurses to continue their education. Baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs support the community college associate degree and practical nursing programs, and recognize their role within the health care system. Community college programs support baccalaureate and higher degree nursing education, and advocate for associate degree nursing graduates to participate in higher education opportunities on many community college campuses. Nursing educators in Iowa are committed to seamless educational articulation at every level for the benefit of the nursing profession and the general public.
