Funding - State Formula
The Governor's Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP) is the State Administering Agency for the Coverdell Grant Program in Iowa. ODCP is responsible for submitting the state application to the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for Iowa's share of the formula portion of the program.
Applications to participate in Iowa's FFY 2011 formula application to NIJ will be accepted through 4:30 p.m. May 6, 2011. Eligible applicants include state and local accredited forensic laboratories and Medical Examiners agencies. Applications are received through Iowa's electronic grant management system at www.iowagrants.gov.
Funding - Competitive Grants
NIJ limits state agencies to a single competative application from each state. State agencies interested in applying for competitive funding through the Coverdell program should contact Dennis Wiggins at 515-725-0311.
Local agencies are invited to apply directly to the National Institute of Justice for competitive Coverdell funding.
