Awarded Funds

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has provided more than $ in economic assistance to Iowa, in important areas such as health care, education, and infrastructure. The following chart lists the major areas in which this program will benefit Iowans. The chart represents funding in nine major ARRA areas consisting of formula, competitive and demand-based funding.

Obligated Funds

Obligated funds reflect the cumulative total expended and obligated (requiring payment) from the beginning of ARRA implementation. Obligated include spent funds and amounts of orders placed, and contracts and subgrants awarded, that will require payment by the State during a future period. Obligated also includes the amounts appropriated by the Iowa General Assembly.

Spent Funds

Spent funds reflects the cumulative totals expended to date from the beginning of ARRA implementation. Information is reported quarterly.
