ARRA Funding in Iowa

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and Education Jobs Fund has provided more than $$3.09 in economic assistance to Iowa, in important areas such as health care, education, and infrastructure. The following chart lists the major areas in which this program will benefit Iowans. The chart represents funding in nine major issue areas consisting of formula, competitive and demand-based funding.

Color Legend And Fund Types
	Formula-Based - Funding is allocated by an established federal formula to States and localities.
	Demand-Based - Funding responds directly to demand from eligible individuals. The dollar amount Iowa receives will vary according to the number of people who qualify and receive the funding. These numbers may change as actual funds are distributed.
	Competitive - Funding was allocated through competitive solicitations federally.
