Services: The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP),
is designed to aid qualifying low-income Iowa households (homeowners
and renters) in the payment of a portion of their residential heating
costs for the winter heating season, to encourage regular utility
payments, to promote energy awareness and to encourage reduction
of energy usage through energy efficiency, client education, and
weatherization.

Services: The Bureau of Health Care Access advocates for quality
health care delivery systems for all Iowans and provides information,

state entity for addressing rural health and primary care issues

Services: The Bureau of Health Promotion & Disability is concerned with reducing the incidence and/or severity
of disability-related secondary conditions. The Bureau also works
to reduce the incidence of injuries to children involved in automobile
and bicycle crashes. Administrative support is provided to the Iowa
Advisory Council on Head Injuries. Two injury-related databases
are managed by the bureau. They are the Central Registry for Brain
and Spinal Cord Injuries, and the Sentinel Project Researching Agricultural
Injury Notification System (SPRAINS). The goals of the Iowa Arthritis
Program are to reduce the impact of arthritis in Iowa and improve

If accommodations are necessary, they may be requested through this
site. In addition to providing accommodations for the application
process, accommodations are also provided for testing. Applicants
with disabilities that must test in order to qualify for vacancies
can bypass the testing requirement if they are certified by either
