Governor Culver Announces New Venture Capital Firm Serving Iowa Entrepreneurs
Governor Chet Culver announced that the Iowa Capital Investment Corporation (ICIC), the State's venture capital development organization has, through the Iowa Fund of Funds program, committed $5 million to Petra Growth Fund II.

Watch for Increased Farm Equipment Movement on Roadways
With spring planting season about to begin, motorists are urged to use caution and be aware of the limitations of slow-moving vehicles on Iowa roadways. While fatalities and major injury crashes involving farm vehicles decreases from 2006 to 2007, caution is a key to safety according to Iowa Department of Transportation officials.
Iowa Well Rescue Demonstrates Common Rural Safety Hazard
The rescue last week of an Iowa toddler from a southern Iowa well demonstrates the risks associated with abandoned wells and cisterns in the state. It is estimated there are as many as 200,000 wells remaining in Iowa. Many pose a safety hazard because of contaminated water or improper closure. The Iowa Department of Public Health's (IDPH) Grants to Counties program provides funding assistance to make wells safe.
