Mission Statement
The Revenue Operations Division
has three major sections:
- Collections
- Customer Accounts
- Document Processing
Collections Section
- Operates the department's Accounts
Receivable system
- Contacts taxpayers who do not pay their
account by the expiration of the appeal period
- Issues bills for the department
- Coordinates collection activities department-wide
- Offers collection services to other
agencies of state government
Customer Accounts Section
- Maintains the registration system by
registering businesses for sales, withholding and motor fuel licensing
and permits and by updating individual customer name and address information
- Processes individual income tax returns
for all tax years
- Manages distributions to local governments
for several mandated reimbursement programs
- Distributes local option sales tax
collections to cities, counties and school districts
Document Processing Section
- Processes almost 4 million documents
each year.
- Receives and routes mail, validates
tax payments and returns
- Enters tax information onto the computer
system
- Processes payments
