K-1 S corporation information on a CD must be in the ASCII format in a specific layout. Click here for the approved layout (pdf) and formatting instructions.
The S corporation will still need to file the IA 1120S and include the CD with the return.
On the IA 1120S:
- Complete page 1 only (except Schedules S and K),
- Write “See attached CD” and
- Sign the return at the bottom of the page.

The information in Schedule S, Schedule K, and page 2 will be obtained from the CD.
If the CD is not in the Department's approved format, the return will be considered incomplete until a correct CD or complete paper return is filed.
