Help VSA arts of Iowa Celebrate Our 30th Year at the Fair!

Looking for exciting Iowa traditions at the state fair? Join us, Friday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. for the 30th annual Governor’s VSA arts Festival. Governor Chet Culver, honorary co-chair of VSA arts of Iowa, will host the dedication ceremony on the Fun Forest stage. Recognition awards will be presented to contributors and volunteers of VSAI. Energetic dancers and other performs will be sharing their special brand of talent with Iowa State Fairgoers. Throughout the fair August 13th – 23rd, VSAI performers with disabilities can be found on the Fun Forest stage, the Wellmark, AE, and American Republic stages. Performances are scheduled at various times each day.

In addition, numerous pieces of artwork will be on display at the second floor of the Cultural Center for the duration of the fair. Every day, two VSAI artists will demonstrate their art forms from 10-2 and 2-6 at the Cultural Center exhibit. Everyone is invited to stop by and look at the work created by adult and children visual artists, creative writers with disabilities, and view the demonstrating artists in action.
