Iowa offers a network of state and nonprofit programs to support children, families, and caregivers including Child Protective Services, childcare, adoption resources, behavioral health, and family-centered services.

  • Foster Care and Adoption
Deciding who will care for your child is not an easy choice to make. Whether you choose to care for your child or decide to pursue adoption, we have resources to help support you.
  • Aging and Older Adult Care
HHS provides support and services to Iowans aged 60 years and older. We work to empower older adults to maintain their independence. We advocate on behalf of older Iowans to ensure their rights, safety, and well-being. We also help people with more specific social and economic needs.
  • Child Care
The three types of regulated childcare in Iowa are Licensed Centers, Child Development Homes, and Child Care Homes.
